RFH's Spheres

Education

RFH is dedicated to enhancing education through the Lisha Kwa Maarifa school feeding program in seven primary schools, ensuring students are well-nourished and able to focus in class. By providing daily meals, we help improve school attendance, retention, and academic performance. Our holistic approach includes school-based initiatives and partnerships with local communities to create sustainable solutions for educational success. This aligns with SDG 4 (Quality Education), as it promotes inclusive and equitable education, ensuring that children have the opportunity to thrive academically.

Nutrition

At RFH, we believe that nutrition is the foundation of a child's development and academic success. Through the Lisha Kwa Maarifa program, we provide nutritious meals to students, addressing hunger and malnutrition that can hinder learning. By working with local farmers and schools, we ensure that every child has access to balanced, wholesome meals that meet their dietary needs. Our focus on community empowerment also encourages local food production, fostering long-term food security and healthier communities. This effort supports SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by improving nutrition and promoting healthy development, especially for vulnerable children in rural areas.

Agriculture

Agriculture is at the heart of our community empowerment programs. RFH trains local farmers in sustainable agricultural practices, equipping them with skills to increase food production and improve their livelihoods. By integrating local farmers into the school feeding supply chain, we strengthen community-based agriculture while ensuring the sustainability of the Lisha Kwa Maarifa program. Initiatives such as poultry projects and horticultural crop production help diversify income streams and create more resilient farming systems. These agricultural initiatives align with SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), promoting sustainable food systems and responsible agricultural practices.

Livelihood

RFH strengthens rural livelihoods by involving local farmers and community members in the supply of food commodities for the Lisha Kwa Maarifa feeding program. By sourcing food locally, we not only support the feeding initiative but also stimulate the local economy, directly benefiting over 4,000 people. This approach ensures that income from the program trickles down to families and community members, enhancing food security and economic stability. Our focus on empowering farmers through training and market access creates a sustainable cycle of growth, benefiting both the community and the feeding program. This initiative directly contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 1 (No Poverty), Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), by fostering economic resilience and supporting sustainable agricultural practices.
